Dortmund is rich of industrial heritage heirs. Some can been as landmarks from afar, others can only be found with an experienced eye. On this tour in the north-west of Dortmund the large old industrial sites „Kokerei Hansa“ and „Zeche Minister Stein“ will be visited. On the way there, you will be able to listen to the rushing re-naturalized Emscher and glance at the city from the 112 meters high Deusenberg.

From the landfill to the recreation area. At first this seems to be a contradiction, but it has become reality at the Deusenberg. The greened dumping ground wonderfuly looks out on the entire city of Dortmund. Additionally, demanding trails on the mountainside as well as on the summit plateau, a special course with steep curves, wave lanes, or tables will wait for participants. As a highlight, Magdalena Urbanczyk, e-mountainbike expert from BH BIKES, will be along for the ride and will provide all sorts of tips and tricks with respect to a correct riding technique.

E-mountainbike expert Magdalena Urbanczyk will also accompany us on the sporty tour through the south of Dortmund, which offers great conditions for e-mountainbiking, given its large forest areas situated on a hillside. On the way there will be some smaller trails on Phoenix West to cope with, before it’s down to the real mountainbike business in the Bittermark. On the way back, the small but challenging dump Gotthelf will be crested, before the route will lead through the Bolmke and past the stadium back to the city center.

This tour will lead into the south-west of Dortmund, focusing on cycling in the countryside. Largely on bike paths along re-naturalized waters, through old villages and past large courtyards, the route will go up to the „Rheinischer Esel“, an old railroad line, which will lead us to Witten. On the way back participants will pass the “Hallerey”, a large mining subsidence area that is today a large lake.

A bike ride for the whole family! On low-traffic roads, the tour will lead through the western city center. Numerous play and sport possibilities will be bordering on the way. In addition to several smaller play grounds, such as the giant rocker in the city center, a huge climbing castle in the west park as well as the large playground in the Tremoniapark will wait for families. On the other hand, the courtyard playground in the Kreuzviertel provides a more contemplative experience and the adjoining ice cream shop invites you to stay.
