CargoBike Race Dortmund
The CargoBikeRace at DEW21 E – BIKE Festival Dortmund 2022 presented by SHIMANO has been the most popular side event for the past 5 years. We are organizing a unique 4X eliminator with cargo bikes for the fifth time in cooperation with our partner VeloKitchen Dortmund.
However, it will be a bit different this year with its new theme “Coal, steel and beer, we are cargo-biking here”
The course includes various obstacles and has a length of approximately 400 meters. This distance must be completed twice in each heat, the first time without and the second time with a specified load.
The CargoBikeRace also offers a team relay, where team teams of four have to solve tricky transport tasks.
To participate you should use cargo bikes with loading areas. However, you are not allowed to use bikes with hangers and fixed bags, unicycles, recumbent bikes, or hand bikes. The race director is allowed to judge the eligibility of the bikes of all participants. Please state whether you will be participating individually or with a team. Please indicate your team name if applicable. You will also have the possibility to rent a cargo bike at cargobikerace@velokitchen-dortmund.de
