This year families will be able to discover the festival in a very special way.
On Sunday, at the DEW21 stand next to the DEW21 festival stage, the family pass can be picked up, which will take young and old to numerous stations throughout the festival area, just waiting to be conquered.
The more stations are mastered, the better, because for each station visited holders will get a stamp into their family pass – and depending on the number of collected stamps, great prices will wait!
Thirst? On all festival days DEW21 will offer Dortmund’s delicious water to all visitors for free!
Whether sparkling, medium or still – a refreshment will be guaranteed! In addition, on the family Sunday each child will receive a supercool drinking bottle with the DEW21 mascot Pido as motif.
A glittering princess, a brave pirate or a dangerous tiger – on family Sunday at Pido’s face painting station for children, kids will be mesmerised at the DEW21 stage at the pylon.
At Pido’s creative station there will be cool do-it-yourself gadgets: keychains, pennants and more – in keeping with the motto: bikes, bikes, bikes!
On the Sunday for families, of course, also for kids everything will revolve around the bike. On the eMTB test course the little ones can do their laps, and on the eUrban test course, on the other hand, everything will be focused on the subject of skilfulness.
Once standing on stage and giving a real interview? Our moderator Sven Simon will bring the kids to the stage and will extensively talk to them about the topic of cycling and everything that goes with it.
On DEW21 family Sunday, both young and old visitors will be able secure a snapshot, as the DEW21 photo teams will give away memories to go! They will be on the way on the whole festival site, in front of the DEW21 stage at the pylon and at the E-Mobility Competence Center.
Mascot Pido will romp about on the festival grounds! On DEW21 family Sunday, the smart penguin will welcome the kids, will be happy to take pictures and will visit the DEW21 creative stations! You will be able to find Pido at the E-Mobility Competence Center and around the DEW21 stage at the pylon.
“Circus Fritzantino” belongs to the youth centre of Dortmund. 140 Participants aged from 6 to 22 years practice five days a week. This educational program is unique in its kind. Here, kids and young adults get a great chance for personal development, co-determination and cultural education.
MR TOM – the wizard
MrTom is an amazing wizard who is always performing at his best. But sometimes he gets confused on stage and needs some help by the little magicians sitting in the audience.
MR TOM – walking on stilts
MrTom brings delightful walk-about fun to the kids. Magic, balloon sculpture and interplay with the audience – MrTom knows how to entertain and amuse the whole family.
For the police of Dortmund it is all about kids and bicycle safety during the family day. The children can participate in a quiz to test their own knowledge.
How does it actually feel to be a radio moderator? Come along and give it a try. At the booth of Radio 91.2 kids can prove their skills as moderator and record their own news broadcast. And the best – they can take it home onto a CD.
